Onstage in Lisbon, clad in a skin-tight black pantsuit,
Madonna grinds her pelvis into a guitar and a speaker.

Then she struts across stage and suddenly collapses backward and falls on her bum,
sticking her stiletto-clad feet theatrically up in the air, for good effect.

Thankfully, she bounces back, but one cannot help but wonder
if major anti-inflammatories and ice packs were required.
That's a good way to break a hip, Madge. Be careful, old girl!

Madonna Sticky and Sweet tour Cardiff

For a woman who has just turned 50, Madonna could be forgiven for being obsessed with time.
In her first concert since reaching the milestone, a ticking sound and images of clocks punctuated
the opening night of her Sticky and Sweet world tour.

The message "Game Over" filled screens around the stage as she left on Friday night,
but her energetic performance - which including skipping, pole dancing and break-dancing -
would seem to suggest her career is anything but.

Madonna flirts with controversy and McCain

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) -
Madonna has always reveled in controversy and with the recent launch of her concert tour,
"Sticky & Sweet," the 50-year-old pop star has kicked up a new fuss
by comparing John McCain to Adolf Hitler in a video.

The dust-up is the latest in a career of risky moves that have paid off handsomely for Madonna,
whose tours and albums have long mixed music with politics, sex and religion.

As her world tour opened in Cardiff, Wales, over the weekend,
Madonna showed a video montage juxtaposing images of Hitler with McCain,
the Republican senator from Arizona running for president against
Democratic Sen. Barack Obama.
The Democrats on Monday launched their nominating convention.


McCain's campaign blasted Madonna with a campaign spokesman telling
media organizations that the video was "outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive."

Madonna and Guy Ritchie divorce reports

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been plagued by rumors of divorce everywhere they go,
so it’s not wonder that the beleaguered husband and wife felt that they both needed
a to take a timeout and seek some spiritual guidance…
even if they were in separate countries at the time.

Friends of Ritchie’s recently told the British media,
“He has gone hot and cold on the religion in the past, but now he’s given up on it altogether.
It has always been her thing and is more a part of her life than ever.
He was genuinely into it and it helped the bond between them.
But then he backtracked a little with his gestures of public backing, like wearing the bracelet,
because he didn’t like being such a high-profile follower.
He also became suspicious of all the Kabbalah crowd living off her money.
But he always told Madonna he had kept his faith — until now.
A few weeks ago he told her he doesn’t want anything else to do with it.
It didn’t go down well.”

Madonna's mother-in-law is on the attack following a deluge of reports
that the Material Girl's marriage to Guy Ritchie is on the rocks.
There has been "no conversation about divorce because there is no divorce,"
Amber Leighton told Britain's Daily Mail.

Leighton also described reports that the couple have spoken
to divorce lawyers as "works of fiction."
"They are no different to most other couples," she said.
"We all know that being together can be hard sometimes
and marriages are not always a bed of roses."

Although Madonna and Ritchie have been plagued with break-up rumors
in the past, lately things have reached a feverish pitch.
