Speculation swirled on Thursday that Avril Lavigne and hubby Deryck Whibley
are calling it quits after three years of marriage.
A source dished to Us Magazine that "Complicated" singer Lavigne, 24,
"dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on.
Divorce papers will be filed any day now."
Another insider tells the mag that Sum 41 frontman Whibley, 29, "is crushed."
No divorce papers have surfaced yet, however, and reps for the pair
did not return the magazine's calls for comment.
Still, tongues have wagged for some time now that the musical marriage was falling flat.
In August, a Gatecrasher spy spotted the Canadian singer partying
sans hubby in Southhampton.
"She wanted to get away from Deryck and have a weekend to herself,"
says a close source.
Although they were apart for several days last month while she was in New York
and he was in Los Angeles, the pair were less than enthused when they got back together again.
Tabloid reports of public fighting, nights partying without one another —
and Lavigne's close friendship with oil heir Brandon Davis —
have also fueled speculation that there is trouble in paradise.
"She and Brandon Davis have a good time together,"
a snitch told People recently.
The couple tied the knot in July 2006 on a private estate in Montecito, Calif.
in front of 110 guests, including family and friends from their native Ontario, Canada.
